REINVESTMENT IN SOUTHERN SCOTTSDALE REACHES $2.64 BILLION

City revitalization efforts south of Chaparral Road have helped generate $2.64 billion in reinvestment in the area since 2003 – including $500 million during the last 12 months. Nearly 3,200 new residential units have been built, are in process or planned since January 2003. Since 2003, there were 472 permits (valued at more than $13 million) issued for major remodeling or additions and more than 4,262 permits (valued at almost $57 million) issued for minor home improvements.
While downtown Scottsdale has seen the majority of this investment (approximately $1.6 billion or 61 percent of the total), the balance of southern Scottsdale is now attracting a significant amount of interest from developers.
